The New York Health Plan Association developed a news bulletin on the subject of ovarian cancer to help inform New York providers and patients about the diagnosis and treatment of the disease. The bulletin provides an overview of the signs and symptoms of the disease, information about genetic testing, and a summary of an HPA survey of health plans about their policies and practices related to the diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer. The newsletter was distributed to more than 10,000 providers in New York.

HPA Awards Summary
The New York Health Plan Association (HPA) created the Health Plan Achievement Awards to recognize and publicly acknowledge the innovative programs of health plans that are designed to improve patient care and enhance the overall health and well being of their members and communities they serve.
The HPA Achievement Awards booklet profiles all the programs submitted for the 2003 and 2004 awards, illustrating the array of outstanding and creative initiatives being conducted by HPA members around New York.
The report reflects the efforts of HPA to address the various challenges facing New York´s managed care industry as we continue to see tremendous change across all sectors of our health care system.
