Healthy New York is a state-subsidized health insurance program offering streamlined benefits designed to encourage up to 1 million small businesses and working individuals in New York to purchase health care coverage.

To help ensure that affordable health benefits are accessible for small business owners in New York State, the state will fund a new "stop-loss" program geared to help keep the premiums for the streamlined benefits package affordable for businesses that have 50 or fewer employees. While not as expansive as the Family Health Plus program, the benefits package provides broad coverage including:

• Essential coverage for inpatient and outpatient hospital services
• Physician diagnostic and treatment services
• Maternity care
• Family preventative and primary care
• X-ray and laboratory services
• Prescription drug benefits (optional)
